John Crawford III Walmart shooting: Surveillance video released of shopper’s final moments

On August 5th John Crawford III picked up a BB rifle from the sporting goods section while shopping at Walmart.
As he walked around the store with the gun while talking on the telephone another shopper called police and reported a black man carrying an AR-15 assault rifle. The shopper told police Crawford, quote, “looked like he was going to go violently.”
Police said Crawford waved a rifle at customers and refused officers orders to put it down. Audio of the 911 dispatcher was released to the public. On the tape the dispatcher can be heard saying “...Walmart, a black male, six foot, wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, in the …section, holding a gun, pointing…”
His family says the piecemeal release of evidence is designed to shape public opinion in favor of the police after what they say he was their unjustified and militaristic shooting of Crawford.
Crawford’s family want the Federal Justice Department to take over the investigation.
