Disturbing: Father murders dog with Wolverine Halloween costume claw, attacks infant son

Police say a Houston father may have been on drugs when he threw his infant son against a window after he had stabbed his dog to death early Monday morning.

Around 10 a.m. police were called to the 3700 block of Westhampton when neighbors reported they heard bizarre noises and a child screaming from inside a home.

Neighbors rushed over and told a woman who pulled into her driveway what they heard.

When the woman, identified by initial reports as either a neighbor or the suspect’s wife, opened the door she reportedly saw Rodney Jermaine Lee, 31, cradling his 16-month-old son in a pool of blood.

When police arrived at the home, they retrieved a claw, taken from a Halloween costume of X-Men character Wolverine that was allegedly used in the slaying of the family’s dog.

Authorities believe Lee was under the influence of an unidentified substance when he killed the animal and threw his infant son against a window with metal bars.

The toddler is currently at Texas Children's Hospital where he is recovering.

Lee was arrested for his bizarre and disturbing behavior and will likely be charged with intent to injure a child.
