A person carrying a suspicious package was arrested on Sunday night in Washington D.C. for jumping a White House fence.

The individual, whose identity and gender has not been made public, climbed the fence and jumped into the White House garden at around 10:25 p.m., according to CNN. The individual was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

The incident is the latest in a series of breaches of White House security.

On March 4, two Secret Service officers allegedly drove their cars into the White House barrier, while on September 2014, a man jumped the fence and managed to run through several the White House rooms until he was stopped.

To deter new jumpers, the federal government plans to equip the White House fences with temporary half-inch steel spikes, tilted at a 5-degree angle, CBS News reported.

More permanent solutions are also being considered.

Architects have been hired by the federal government not only to replace the old fence but also to renovate vehicular access points and pedestrian areas around the building, the Washington Post reported.
