Propane tank explosion accident: Man nearly blows himself and wife up after failed suicide

In Taichung, a city located in central Taiwan, a 39-year-old man attempted to commit suicide after he suspected his wife of having an affair. So he moved a small tank of propane gas into his work room, turned on the gas, and waited to die.
His wife soon returned home, however, and the two began to attempt to reconcile their differences. The husband decided to shut off and move the propane tank back into the kitchen so the two could continue their discussion.
He then returned to the work room and forgetting that the room was still filled with propane gas, lit up a cigarette.
Neighbors and office workers at a nearby building all said they heard the thunderous boom of the explosion. At least a dozen phone calls poured into the 911 emergency line, some even claiming the explosion may have been a bomb.
The husband and wife are alive, although badly burned. The husband regained consciousness shortly after the explosion and then carried his unconscious wife into the bathroom where he soaked her in a cold bath until emergency crews arrived.
No one else was injured in the explosion and most the property damage was isolated to the couple’s apartment. The two have been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Wonder if they’ll remain together?
