Man on car hood: SUV hits knife-wielding man, carries him through 7 towns - caught on camera

A drunk driver managed to carry a man on the hood of his SUV for 11 solid miles, making it through 7 Pennsylvania towns until police caught up to him late last week, according to a WTAE report.

Authorities arrested the driver, Pittsburgh-native Dwayne Harvard, 46, on charges of simple assault, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and driving under the influence Sunday evening.

Speaking to local media Harvard claims he hit the man on his hood, Steven Sutton, 36, after the two got into a heated argument in front of Harvard's Springdale home and he began to fear for his life.

The dispute centered around Sutton's girlfriend, Anna Mazzetti, who was with Harvard and whom Sutton preferred not to be driven home by Harvard.

"He took a cinder block and he was trying to hit the truck," Harvard told WTAE. "I said, 'calm down. You put the block down.'"

Feeling threatened, Harvard says that's when he next hit the allegedly knife-wielding man with his Ford Explorer.

Sutton, not one to easily let things go, apparently, clung onto vehicle's hood as it hit speeds of nearly 85 mph, blazing past several Pennsylvania towns.

Police eventually caught up to the trio after Harvard phoned 911 mid-way through the incident and brought both men in for questioning.

While Harvard, who's since posted bail, was arrested and charged, Sutton escaped scot-free.
