#GE2015: London has mixed reactions to exit poll predictions

Historically, Labour has held several of the seats surrounding central London’s Blue Boar pub, but local Conservative voters are celebrating nonetheless.

One claims UKIP leader Nigel Farage has cause for concern in the Kent constituency where he campaigned.

“The exit polls are looking really good for us. I was actually out campaigning in South Thanet today. From people I spoke to there when I was canvassing, it looks like we may very well have prevented Nigel Farage from gaining that seat,” he told euronews’ James Franey.

“I am very glad for David Cameron. He stuck to his course like George Osborne and all of his hard work and effort, I believe, has paid off,” another added. “I never had any doubt that he was the leader we needed.”

Also in central London, the Vauxhall constituency has been a Labour stronghold for 26 years. Here, there was less enthusiasm about the exit poll predictions. Euronews’ Sarah Chappell spoke to passersby, some of whom were stunned, others disheartened
