And while we take this day to honor children,...a global report takes a timely look at motherhood, which directly affects the well-being of kids around the world.
Korea ranked high on the sixteenth annual "State of the World's Mothers" report released Tuesday by international non-profit, "Save the Children".
Korean mothers came in 30th place... out of 179 countries,.. a tie with Croatia.
The rankings were based on five factors - maternal health, under-five mortality rates, and the economic, educational and political status of women in each country.
Korea had lower maternal and infant mortality rates compared to Japan and the United States, which came in at 32nd and 33rd, respectively.
Norway topped the list this year, while Somalia remained at the bottom for two years in a row.
