Open Files – The Golden Dawn

Open Files. An exhaustive investigative report on the lives and works of Latin America's and the world's most controversial personalities. As extreme right wing parties began to make significant gains in several European countries, the Golden Dawn made its presence felt in Greece. The leader of the neo-Nazi party, Nikos Michaloliakos and 85 other members face serious charges of criminal organization and murder. The key component of the organization’s ideology is hatred for anyone who threatens the purity of their blood and Greek honor. Immigrants were the first to be beaten and murdered, with the tolerance and cover-up of the police. Soon journalists, playwrights, school children, anti-authoritarians, leftists and basically anyone who didn’t agree with them were threatened and attacked with sticks, guns and knives. Open Files explores their financing, ties with commercial and political groups and individuals, ability to attract votes and possible reasons for their activity in Greece. teleSUR
