The death toll in Saturday’s 7.9 magnitude earthquake is now at 4600 and may reach 10,000 according to Nepal’s Prime Minister. Tremors continue and thousands of people are trying to get out of the capital city Kathmandu any way they can. The United Nations says 8 million people have been affected and 1.4 million are in need of food. Meanwhile, heavy rains are hampering relief efforts. In the countryside, some entire villages have been flattened and the people have received no outside help. teleSUR
