00:00Hi, I'm Katya Lidsky, and this is The Cat Connection.
00:07Today we're going to talk about adopting black cats. Is there truly something wrong with black cats?
00:14No. Black cats are stigmatized, but there's nothing wrong with them.
00:20Unfortunately, we associate them with bad luck. You know the superstition, a black cat crosses your path,
00:26you have seven years of bad luck.
00:28Black cats are harder to see at night, and some people are afraid by that. They blend in with
00:33their surroundings, with the darkness, maybe all you see is their eyes. Sadly, black cats and black
00:40kittens are the least adopted animal in shelters across the country, so people don't want to adopt
00:47them. But black cats are wonderful. They're awesome and lovely, just like any other cat.
00:53There's also some special advantages to adopting a black cat. For example, if you wear black
00:59clothing, you won't see the cat hair on your clothes. Like all cats, it's not the color,
01:04or even really the breed, it's their personality that counts.
