Simhasana was a stray when she was hit by car. Both of her legs were dislocated. She wasn't given medical attention until months later where she was turned in by a good Samaritan. By that time her legs had fused incorrectly. Overwhelmed by her injuries, the local shelter could not help her. Best Friends Animal Society - Los Angeles pulled her from the shelter and ordered her to "cage rest." Miraculously, over night Simhasana was able to walk. Within two months, she was able to run. Today, Simhasana is nearly recovered and is looking for her next adventure. A new home.

00:27 Her back legs from her hip bones down were contorted.
00:31 Her hips seemed to be somewhat out of socket.
00:33 She wasn't able to stand firmly on her back feet.
00:36 They kind of bowed out like little bat wings.
00:38 I don't know how she survived out there.
00:40 I don't have any idea because she could barely get herself around.
00:43 So I don't know how she managed to stay out of traffic and find food.
00:47 And it's crazy.
00:49 That's probably why she had become so thin.

00:58 She didn't seem to be in any pain anymore.
01:00 It probably happened a few months before she was found.

01:11 Simizana came to us two, two and a half months ago, and
01:14 she's been living with us ever since.
01:16 First, we wanted to be able to give her the opportunity to have cage rest to see
01:20 if maybe that would improve the mobility that she has.

01:33 And then one day the clinic staff came in and said, you need to come and
01:41 see this.
01:42 We went into the clinic, put her on the ground, and
01:44 she started walking around.
01:45 And since then, it's been all better.
01:47 The way she looks, her physical appearance, and
01:49 the way that she has limited mobility, she's just a normal cat beyond those
01:53 things, and I think that she feels that she's a normal cat as well, and
01:56 that she doesn't have any limitation.

02:01 Simizana is definitely a survivor.
02:03 Not only did she survive being out on the street,
02:05 she also survived some sort of traumatic injury.
02:08 And then making a miraculous recovery once we had her.
02:12 I always have a soft spot for the special needs cats.
02:14 And when you see a cat like Simizana who was not letting it stop her and
02:19 still seemed to be so friendly and want so much to give that love despite
02:23 everything that was going on, you couldn't help but just fall in love with her.
