The Supreme Court on Wednesday (April 15) said that there was no material to show that former military intelligence officer Shrikant Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur were involved in organized crime and asked the trial court to consider their bail plea in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case. The court, however, said that there is a possibility that evidence might come to light for their involvement in organized crime as the probe is still on. The court turned down the plea of dropping MCOCA charges against the accused. The court said that there is sufficient evidence against one accused Rakesh Dhawade to face prosecution under MCOCA and he cannot be granted bail.
