Amateur therapist assaulted hypnotized woman

An amateur hypnotist is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she was under hypnosis.
Kevin Christian Geyer allegedly tried to dress the 25-year-old victim up before waking her up in an attempt to cover up the rape.
Geyer, 25, pleaded innocent on Wednesday in Benton County Superior Court to one count of indecent liberties. The felony charge deals with having sexual contact when a person is incapable of consent because they are mentally incapacitated or physically helpless.
Geyer had supposedly hypnotized the victim several times in the past to help her with her problems. However, during her session on June 4, Geyer “placed (the woman) under a state of hypnosis directing her to block out all her senses except her hearing,” court documents said.
The woman later told Kennewick police that when she was hypnotized, she had vague images of Geyer sexually assaulting her. The victim also discovered evidence of the sexual contact on her clothes, according to documents.
After the woman confronted Geyer over text message, he allegedly replied by apologizing.
When authorities got a hold of Guyer, he only admitted to inappropriately touching the woman. “He acknowledged that he took advantage of her while she was under hypnosis and expressed his deep regret,” Deputy Prosecutor Megan Whitmire wrote in court documents.
A sexual assault protection order was put in on Wednesday, meaning Geyer for one year can have no contact with the woman. Geyer must also turn over any guns or weapons to authorities while the case is pending.
He is currently out of custody on his own personal recognizance. His trial will begin in January.
