Hey Japanophile Lady! Lily's going to Okinawa!

This week’s hey lady! is Lily!

She’s 28 years old and dreams of being able to travel to Okinawa someday.

I bet she’ll be surprised to see that many temples and buildings in Okinawa also have carved stone lions guarding the entrances and gates, just like Taiwan does. This is because this is a Chinese tradition and belief that the stone lions protect the property or buildings.

You will often find them in pairs, one lion with the mouth open and the other with it’s mouth closed.

We hope you a great time in Okinawa, Lily!
