Put ‘em in a coffin gone wrong: wannabe Vine pranksters put huge dent in Houston man’s BMW
The newest inexplicably viral online prank has not only made a dent on the web, but on the hood of a Texas man's vehicle.
Teens trying to emulate the popular "Put 'Em in a Coffin" viral prank made James McHugh’s white BMW and wife’s car the latest victims of vandalism.
Late Friday evening, seven teens were caught recording and diving onto McHugh’s car’s just a mile outside Houston’s downtown in Plaza del Sol Park.
The damage left by the dangerous stunt has left the 28-year-old with a $4,000 repair bill.
The original "Put 'Em in a Coffin" prank was posted online in May after a member of the rap group ThotBoyz posted a video of himself flopping back across the hood of a car with his arms crossed in front of him like a body in a coffin.
The Vine video since received more than 3 million views.
Now the viral prank has copycat videos everywhere, from teens flopping on cars, fast food counters, bushes, Walmart stores and other creative places.
Here’s hoping it stops sometime soon.
