Mama’s boy murders older sister for abusing their mother and taking her money

Last week in Kaohsiung, a middle aged man identified by his last name, Wang, murdered his older sister for bullying their mother.
Mr. Wang is 44 years old, unmarried, and unemployed. He spent most of his time taking care of his elderly mother. He, his mother, and his sister all lived together in a small property and survive off their deceased father’s pension.
Last year, Mr. Wang’s 70-year-old mother fell ill recently and was hospitalized. She’d only just recently moved back home. Mr. Wang did most of the housework, such as cooking and cleaning, while his sister spent most of her time with her friends and refused to help care for their mother.
The first evening their mother was back from the hospital, Mr. Wang’s sister returned home late at night and started an argument with him. Now that their mother was back, she intended to force her mother to withdraw some cash for her. Frustrated that their mother had been home for less than 24 hours and his sister was already demanding money from her, Mr. Wang seized a kitchen knife and stabbed his sister to death.
He then cleaned up and went on to calmly prepare breakfast for his mother. It wasn’t until late in the afternoon, once his mother was asleep during her afternoon nap that he called the police and turned himself in.
Mr. Wang said that their situation used to make him want to kill himself, but that would have left his mother alone with his sister. He said his sister often abused their mother, physically and emotionally, and constantly demanded money from their mother so that she could go hang out with friends.
Neighbors commented that Mr. Wang had seemed like such a devoted son. He did everything for his mother, cooked, cleaned and looked after her. He would also often help his elderly neighbors if he had the time to spare. They never would’ve thought he was capable of murder.
And he seemed like such a nice boy.
