Mother forgets sleeping 9-year-old daughter on high-speed train

“When de-boarding the train, please remember to take your luggage and all carry-on items.”

Unfortunately, that common announcement does not include, an apparently necessary, reminder to parents to not leave their children behind.

A mother accidentally left her sleeping 9-year-old daughter behind on the high-speed train earlier this week, while traveling from southern Taiwan to the central city of Taichung.

The train had already pulled out of the station by the time the forgetful woman realized her mistake. When she did, she frantically contacted the help desk who called staff at the following station.

A station employee luckily managed to find the girl, but because it was the last train of the night, was unable to escort the little girl back to Taichung. So her mother was forced to take a night bus to come and collect her daughter.

The staff said the little girl was calm and quiet the whole time while she waited for her mom.

Perhaps railway stations should reconsider what they include in that list of things not to forget aboard the train.
