Mesa shooting spree UPDATE: Suspect arrested after rampage sparked by argument at Tri City Inn

A gunman who killed one person and wounded five others during a shooting spree in Mesa, Arizona Wednesday afternoon has been captured and detained by police.
The shooting spree started at the Tri City Inn around 8:45 a.m, according to police. The shooter — who police identified as Ryan Giroux — shot three people at the motel. Two women were injured, and one man died at the scene.
The shooting was reportedly sparked by an argument at the motel.
Giroux then went to the nearby Bistro 13, where he reportedly shot an adult male student from East Valley Institute of Technology in a carjacking. The student was injured in the shoulder. The student went across the street to seek help from paramedics who had arrived in response to the first shooting incident.
Giroux then carried out a home invasion and shooting at 900 S. Dobson Rd., injuring one man. Another shooting took place nearby at 1800 W. Emelita Ave., where reports say a male victim was injured and is in critical condition.
SWAT teams captured the alleged gunman around 12:45 p.m. near the corner of Dobson Road and 8th Avenue. Giroux was dressed in a white full-body suit and his wrists were shackled as police took him away.
Officials are still investigating the motive behind the shootings.
