In the still of the Arabian night, amid camera flashes and press, World renowned French climber Alain Robert, also known as 'Spiderman,' began his ascent of Dubai's Cayan Tower - the world's tallest twisted skyscraper – with only his climbing shoes and chalk. No harnesses or ropes were in sight as hundreds of spectators turned up to witness the 52 year-old free-climber scale the tower using no additional means except a small powder-filled pouch clipped to his waist to help keep his grip.
