Normandy group to discuss Minsk agreement in Berlin

German foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has invited his counterparts from France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine to Berlin on Monday evening (April 13) for so-called Normandy talks.

The goal of the meeting is to discuss the implementation of the Minsk ceasefire agreements.

Meanwhile Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski addressed the Ukrainian Parliament on Thursday (April 9) as part of his official visit to Ukraine.

His speech followed a meeting with Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko during which they talked about the best way to end the conflict in the Donbass region of the country.

“One cannot fail to see that an aggressor’s troops, tanks, armoured transporters and missile launchers are in Ukraine,” said Komorowski.

“Today, only blind people can turn a blind eye to this lie. The western world must understand that it will be safe only when Ukraine is safe,” Komorowski added.
