Extreme animal attack photos: Lion mauls Australian man during South African safari tour

An Australian tourist barely managed to survive getting mauled by a lion during a safari tour in South Africa, according to a Daily Mail report.
The tourist, Brendan Smith, who hails from Perth in western Australia, recounted the harrowing incident, alongside some pretty gruesome photos, in a post made to Facebook.
Smith had been in South Africa all but 36 hours before the attack, which saw a lioness leap through an open car window and begin to maul him.
A recovering and good-humored Smith snapped the post-mauling photos from the hospital, noting "chicks dig scars so I'll be sweet!"
