Surah Maryam (Arabic: سورة مريم, Sūratu Maryam, "Mary") is the 19th surah (chapter) of the Quran and is a Makkan surah with 98 ayat (verses). It is named after Maryām, or Mary, Mother of Isa, or Jesus, who appears in verses 16-34. Theodor Nöldeke's chronology identifies this surah as the 58th surah delivered, while the traditional Egyptian chronology places it as the 44th.
