American cable television network VH1 together with Entertainment Weekly determined the "100 Greatest Rock & Roll Moments on TV." The five-hour special celebrates the fusion of rock music and television and examines its irreversible impact on American popular culture. Selections from the list were aired in a series of five one-hour specials on VH1 starting July 31, 2000.
