Colombia seeks to guarantee FARC protection from extradition to US

During his official visit to Spain, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said he will ask the US government for guarantees that it will not demand the extradition of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) members. Social organizations, however, say the Colombian government should make a sovereign decision on this issue, as extradition is one of the major obstacles to achieving peace in the country. teleSUR
