How steep can a skiing line get before it becomes a barely controlled plunge? Sam Anthamatten is in Haines, Alaska conducting a series of tests to determine just that. By 'tests' we mean he is hurling himself over the edge of nearly vertical mountains and skiing like there is no tomorrow.

This Swiss native used to climb and ice climb for his country's national team but decided to focus on skiing, apparently to keep the rest of us from being jealous. Now he divides his time between traveling on the Freeride World Tour, mountain guiding, and doing a bit of rock climbing and alpinism on the side.

Not bad huh? Especially when you see his lines.
