Three artists riding high off career-peak years combining for some darkly alluring techno? Yes please. Well, Clockwork and Avatism’s pairing isn’t strictly new, but they’ve been picking up a considerable head of steam under the CW/A moniker in recent months – including a booking at perhaps the last Fabric NYE of the pre-sniffer, pre-breathalyser era – and this release is their largest statement to date.
We could have plumped for a typically unblinking edit from Lucy, but pulled Illian Tape don Dario Zenker’s remix out the bag instead. He flattens the landscape of the title track, shelling claps down like pintacks to keep the pace choppy and brisk. It’s a good’un, and it sees release on Parachute Records next month.
