In north-eastern Syria, Kurds and the Syriac Christian community have begun carving out an autonomous region for themselves. Our team met one Syriac fighter who has left a comfortable life in Switzerland - saying he wants to defend his ancestors' liberty against the advance of the Islamic State organisation.
