Lucas Silva named to the squad against Real Sociedad; Illarramendi to start

Madrid, Jan 30 (EFE).- Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti told a press conference Friday that the team's latest transfer, Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva, would likely debut in the following day's league match against Real Sociedad.



Ancelotti added that Asier Illarramendi, who used to play for Real Sociedad, would start in the La Liga game Saturday after Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was sanctioned. With Illarramendi instead of Cristiano, Colombian James Rodriguez would have to move further up on the field.



Lucas Silva, who joined the team less than a week ago, is to debut at the Bernabeu because "he has arrived well, in good physical condition," the coach explained.



"It is clear that he is not at a hundred percent because he started the season on Jan. 7, but he is okay. There is a possibility that we will give him some minutes."
