Tellabs Get Schooled Podcast: Pseudowires: The Building Bloc

Created seven years ago, the pseudowire standard is a building block upon which multiple types of traffic can be layered and then converged onto a single, multipurpose packet-switched network. In 2001, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) established the Pseudowire Emulation Edge-to-Edge (PWE3) working group to develop edge-to-edge pseudowire architectures and document service-specific encapsulation techniques. Giles Heron, Senior Technology Specialist, and co-collaborator on the original Martini Draft, discusses the PWE3 industry standards and how this innovative technology will shape the networks of the future.
