Thermochromic Coaster

Thermochromic materials change colour depending on their temperature. They can be used in a number of scientific and technical applications, but here it is used just for fun.

The foam square is designed to be used as a drinks coaster, and because the top surface contains a thermochromic ink, it will change colour when you place a hot mug on it.
