The US stands with you, Obama tells France

As the sieges were coming to a bloody end, across the Atlantic in Washington the Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner led the tributes.
President Obama, who had signed a condolence book the previous day at the French embassy, again expressed his solidarity in a speech in Tennessee.
“I want the people of France to know the United States stands with you today, stands with you tomorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been directly impacted. We grieve with you, we fight alongside to uphold our values – values that we share – universal values, that bind us together as friends and as allies,” the president said.
The US State Department later issued a warning to American citizens abroad, urging them to be especially vigilant because of the continued threat of terror attacks.
