Legendary Gospel Singer Andrae Crouch Passes Away

A man who is often referred to as a “gospel music pioneer” among fans and media outlets, has passed away. Last week, Andraé Crouch suffered from a heart attack.

A man, often referred to as a “gospel music pioneer” has passed away.

Last week, Andraé Crouch suffered from a heart attack. He was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center in California on Saturday and he died there on Thursday due to complications that resulted from the heart attack.

He was 72 years old. His twin sister, Sandra Couch issued a statement to the Los Angeles Times that confirmed his passing.

She noted “My twin brother, womb-mate and best friend went home to be with the Lord. Please keep me, my family and our church family in your prayers. I tried to keep him here but God loved him best.”

His legacy continues to live on and inspire his fans. Crouch was born in San Francisco and wrote his first gospel song when he was a young teenager.
