Fujimori sentenced to 8 more years in prison plus a US$1 million fine

Peru's former president, Alberto Fujimori Thursday was sentenced to 8 additional years of prison for diverting funds from the military in order to control the editorial policy of local media outlets to maintain his political power. In addition, Fujimori will have to pay the Peruvian state a fine in the amount of US$1 million for civil damages. This is the 5th time Peru's former president is being charged for crimes commited during his administration. teleSUR
