Taylor's '1989' tops 2014

The top selling album of 2014 in the US was Taylor Swift's '1989' which outsold Disney's 'Frozen' soundtrack at the last minute. '1989' sold 3.66 million copies in 2014 according to Nielsen music, while the 'Frozen' album sold 3.53 million.

'1989' was also the No. 1 spot in the weekly U.S. Billboard 200 chart for the seventh time, selling 430,000 units in the week ending Dec. 28.

Bono, the frontman of the Irish rock group U2, has written in a blog post on the band's official website that it is not clear that he will ever play guitar again, following a bicycle accident in New York last November that left him with multiple injuries, including fractures in his shoulder blade, left elbow, and left eye socket.

The 54-year-old singer was trying to avoid another cyclist when the accident occurred.
