Video shot on board an Indonesian vessel on Wednesday (December 31) showed a search team battling heavy seas to recover a body from the AirAsia flight which crashed into the sea.

The search team in a rubber boat approached the body to catch it with a net before towing it to a navy ship where staff wrapped it and prepared it for transport back to shore.

As of Friday (January 2), 10 bodies have been recovered off the coast of Kalimantan as well as plane debris and belongings of passengers.

The remains are being transferred to Surabaya, where the ill-fated flight departed from on Sunday (December 28). They will be identified there and then handed over to their families.

International experts with sophisticated acoustic detection gear joined teams scouring the sea for the wreck of the passenger jet on Friday, but bad weather was again hindering the hunt for the plane's black box flight recor
