Anker Car Jumping Kit Product Review

Anker did send me this product for review/testing purposes, but I promise that my review is totally unbiased.

This is a really cool product, and I was excited to receive it. I think everyone needs to have this in their car!

The kit is housed in a semi-rigid case that house the main unit, an A/C wall charger, a D/C Car Charger, D/C Accessory Charger, and a set of jumper cables.

At the heart of this is a 12,000mAh rechargeable battery. But this one can kick out some extra amperage that gives it the punch needed to jump start your cars dead battery.

The manual does state that you should check the charge level of this unit every three months to make sure it stays topped off, should you need it in an emergency. I set an alarm on my cell phone to remind me of this.

As you will see in my video above, my car truly had a dead battery. And as you will see, this device failed to start my car on the first attempt, because I missed a 2nd separate power switch located on the jumper cable unit. When initially connected, the light on the jumper cables is RED. When you press this "ON" switch the light will turn GREEN. Once I figured this out, my car started right up on the first try.

PROS:
- Very compact COMPLETE kit. Easy tucks away in your trunk.
- Has a 5V USB output so you can charge a mobile device while traveling.
- Has a BOTH an A/C and a D/C charging plug (you can recharge this bad boy from home or auto)
-There is a D/C outlet included, so you can run a device that would normally plug into your cars cigarette lighter.
- There is a built in bright LED light that also flashes as a strobe, and SOS.
- And last but not least... there is a built in compass on the bottom of the unit! :)

CONS:
- When jump starting your car, the "jumper cable" unit that plugs in has a separate "power button". YOU MUST PRESS THIS BUTTON OR ELSE YOUR CAR WILL NOT START! I missed this, and was pretty pissed until I reread the instructions! In an emergency this can be something that can be easily overlooked.

As mentioned above, this was sent to me for the purposes of a review, but my serious intention is to give these units out as gifts in the future to family and friends. They truly can be a life saver!
