The search is on above the Java Sea for any signs of the AirAsia flight that disappeared over the weekend.

The flight vanished Sunday with 162 people on board. Officials say they presume it crashed.

Officials say the flight disappeared five minutes after requesting a change of course, which was refused because of heavy air traffic.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo says all efforts will be made to find the plane.

"Up until now, we have been updating with what we know. We will do all it takes to find the missing airplane and we hope that families of victims will be patient and pray that this search will have a conclusion."

A senior Indonesian civil aviation source tells Reuters that authorities have the flight's radar data and are waiting for search and rescue teams to find debris before starting their investigation.
