Snow and ice traps those hoping to hit the slopes in Bavaria

Next to white-out conditions in southern Germany Sunday where snowfall is disrupting travelers hoping to hit the slopes of the Bavarian mountains.
Manuela Ott says the traffic was a struggle, but the payoff like none other.
(SOUNDBITE) (German) MANUELA OTT, SAYING:
"We are tourists and came yesterday. The drive down here was very exhausting because we were in the middle of the snow storm. But now it is an incredible feeling to be here in Schliersee in that exquisite winter weather and to enjoy the atmosphere."
A wait well worth it for these pups enjoying the fluffy powder, almost as much as the skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes.
German forecasters say the snowy conditions aren't unusual for this time of year, but they could make driving dangerous due to the number of vehicles on the road.
