Launch of New Indian GSLV MkIII with Test Capsule

A brand new Indian launch vehicle designed to eventually take humans into orbit launched today from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in India. The rocket called the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark 3 successfully launched December 18th 2014 at 04:00 UTC. The rocket carried a test space capsule which will splash down in the Bay of Bengal.
