Anti-Islam Protests - A Shame for Germany? | Quadriga

The Anti-Islam protests of the Pegida movement have mobilized thousands of Germans. They are demonstrating for the preservation of German identity and demanding that foreigners who commit criminal offences are expelled from the country. Are these protesters driven by genuine concerns? Are they just disillusioned with politics or are they racist? Are these protests, as Justice Minister Heiko Maas has stated, "a shame for Germany"?
