Fishing Expedition East Coast of Malaysia Part 3

Once i had done recon, I walked back to my car to prepare my gears. The weather had turned better, the sun came out too and the dark cloud vanished.

As this was the first real trial on Kite fishing, I figured that I might spent lot's of times on it, and I was alone with no helper, thus i brought only the Kite fishing gears to the site,

The gears were 200 lbs tested monofilament lines with a length of 1500 meters, it was winded onto a drum which I DIY it from a discarded cable drum, 2000 meters of 80 lbs tested braided kite line, and I bought a reel specifically designed for kite flying, 40 sets of pre-tied rigs using 4/0 circle hook and 60 lbs tested leader lines. Before I set off from home, I caught around 200 pieces of tambans as baits, they were frozen and packed separately into 50 per pack, I did some preservation by adding salt to it and packed tightly in my cooler and they were still icing when I unwrapped them.

Everything looked good when I returned to the site, wind still blowing towards the open sea, weather was fantastic. I set-up the kite and was ready to rock'n roll.

Struggling for around 2 hours, I gave up. The wind just getting weaker and weaker, my kite just refused to get up to the sky. Maybe I had brought the wrong type of kite, the Power Sled required strong wind to pick up as I done some research afterwards, maybe is the structure there that made the wind slowed, maybe......

Anyway, as I didn't bring my fishing rods, I packed and headed back to my car. After some rest I set off for the next stage, crossing the state border into Terengganu.

Coming up Part 4 I will be in Teluk Kalong, stay tuned, thanks for watching.
