Pope Francis leads prayer to end isolation, stigma of autism

Hundreds of parents and children affected by autism pack the Vatican audience hall, as the Pope addresses a healthcare conference.

Taking center stage, the Pontiff calls for the breakdown of stigma often associated with autism.

In this way we can contribute to breaking down the isolation and, in many cases, the stigma that burdens people affected with autism spectrum disorders, and just as often their families."

The three-day healthcare conference brought together 650 experts from 57 countries.
