Briton, Frenchman seen in Islamic State beheading video

A British medical student and a Frenchman are believed to appear in a newly-released Islamic State video, which shows the beheadings of Syrian soldiers...

...and displays the severed head of American aid worker Peter Kassig.

France's Interior Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve.

(SOUNDBITE) (French) FRENCH INTERIOR MINISTER, BERNARD CAZENEUVE SAYING:

"An analysis suggests with very highly probability that a French citizen could have directly participated in committing these abject crimes."

Cazeneuve says it's likely to be 22-year-old Maxime Hauchard, who left for Syria in August 2013.

In Britain, a father told the Daily Mail that he believes HIS son, a 20-year-old British medical student, is also in the video -- among the group carrying out the beheadings.

Islamic State has become a magnet for jihadists from Europe and North America -- with hundreds believed to be joining their ranks in Syria and Iraq.
