Molten lava still creeping across Hawaiian island

On Hawaii’s Big Island, molten lava from the Kilauea volcano continues to creep very slowly towards the town of Pahoa. The first Hawaiian house was destroyed earlier this week by the slow-moving lava, but the residents had had plenty of time to remove all their belongings.

The Kilauea volcano has been continuously erupting for more than 31 years, and lava is breaking out of the land in three different places on the island, but authorities say there is no immediate danger to life or to property.
