Cultura Latina- Opera in the Park and sculptor Camilo Egas

Follow the music, admire the art, place yourself inside historic architecture, in Telesur's "Cultura Latina". In this week's program, host Mauricio Izquierdo takes us to Bogota which is celebrating its 17th Opera in the Park festival, organized by the city's philharmonic orchestra. This festival brings opera, which usually has a fairly limited audience, to all of society Colombian society and also gives an opportunity to young, non-professional opera artists to perform publicly.
Today's show also visits the Quito home and museum of famed Ecuadorian artist and painter, Camilo Egas, who lived from 1889 to 1962. Egas was active in many countries and eventually became known for his works with indigenous themes, and played a major part in forming the Indigenist Movement in Ecuador.
