East Ukraine election polls close

Alexander Zakharchenko, the main rebel leader in Ukraine's largest separatist region Donetsk, won the controversial election, according to an exit poll conducted by the pro-Russia separatists. Large qeues of voters filled the polling stations for the elections on Sunday while an estimated half of the population has left the region since the conflict started.
