The stars shine bright at "Interstellar" premiere

A host of Oscar favourites hit the red carpet in LA on Sunday for the premiere of Christopher Nolan's sci-fi adventure, 'Interstellar'.

The movie is set at a time in the future when the Earth is coming to an end. A team of explorers are given the task of travelling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future beyond the stars.

Casting a stellar line-up which includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine was crucial for writer and director Christopher Nolan.

"Well, it is always a bit of a struggle to get the right people. You have who you have in mind, in this case Matthew, Anne, Jessica, you know, all the people, and once I'd finished the script they were very excited to get into the project. Luckily, you know, I was able to convince all three of them to do it which doesn't always happen."
