Metropolitan Police drop all charges against Iftikhar Hussain Qureshi on suspicion of murder of Dr Imran Farooq & released him with no further action

Today, 21st October 2014, Detectives investigating the murder of Dr Imran Farooq in London have released Mr Iftikhar Hussain Qureshi, cousin of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain with no further action. Metropolitan Police had arrested Mr Iftikhar Hussain Qureshi, cousin of Mr Altaf Hussain on 24th June 2013 at Heathrow Airport while returning from Canada on suspicion of the murder of Dr Imran Farooq, Convenor of the MQM, who was murdered on 16th September 2010.
Mr Iftikhar Hussain Qureshi was questioned for over 36 hours by the detectives of the Metropolitan Police under detention. However, today, having found no evidence, they have dropped the charges and was formally released. It is pertinent to note that he was released on the police bail after the conclusion of his 36 hours questioning.
