Bayern's Thiago Alcántara travels to Barcelona for knee operation

Barcelona, 21 Oct (EFE).- Bayern Munich footballer Thiago Alcántara will have an operation at Quirón Hospital in Barcelona after tearing a ligament in his right leg for the third time.
The Spanish player suffered the tear last week during training. Thiago was hoping to return soon after a long period recovering from the injury.
The club says it was caused by scar tissue deficiency, which will keep him out for several weeks.
The injury has been in the headlines in the German press, with claims of alleged friction between Bayern manager Pep Guardiola and club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller Wohlfahrt.
Guardiola, apparently against Müller Wohlfahrt opinion, allowed Thiago to travel to Spain in March to receive treatment for his injury, when he initially received cortisone injections.
