Facebook’s founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that he and his wife are donating 25 million dollars to aid in the fight against Ebola.

The money will be given to the CDC Foundation to bolster their efforts in treating and combatting the spread of the illness.
Zuckerberg made news of the gift public via Facebook.
He wrote, "we need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn't spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or polio."
He went on to say the funds are being given as it’s the quickest way to provide the agency and its field workers with the resources they need.
Examples mentioned of how the money may be used include setting up care centers, identifying cases, and training area people to work as staff members.

Since the outbreak, the CDC has sent about a hundred experts to help in hard hit countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Nigeria.
